The latest rendition of the Punisher in Punisher War Journal starring Ray Stevenson, Warren admits is the closest Marvel has come. Yet the fans are still calling BS! Why can Marvel Studios not seem to get this right? Apparently they've painted him too soft and not gritty enough according to Warren. While Punisher War Journal kept a fast pace of bloodshed and on-screen killings along with some pretty graphic scenes accompanied by heavy metal music, Warner says the fans are telling him they still have yet to see the Punisher.
While it is obvious we would not settle for anyone other than Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, and most would say they absolutely nailed Bruce Banner in Mark Ruffalo, Frank Castle (The Punisher) is still out there to be found. Meanwhile Chris Warner is jumping up and down, waving his hands saying, "Over here, guys!". And from what he's heard from the fans...they agree with him.
