Vista Home Improvements Reviews Solar Power Trend In Southern California

Solar Power in the Southern California Area Is Seeing A Major Spike in both Interest and Installations. Is this trend just a fad? Or here to stay?

Aug. 2, 2012 - PRLog -- As the cost of Electricity continues to climb and the growing awareness of Global Warning gains more momentum and urgency one solution that helps homeowners combat these two issues is the use of Solar Energy to power their homes. The cost of installing a adequate system to cover the majority of the homes power consumption has been steadily dropping to the point that is now feasible to install a system and almost incur no additional cost when compared to the savings received by producing clean energy from the Sun. The funds that the power companies have available in the form of rebates for incentives to promote homeowners to install solar panels on their homes is quickly drying up. The Government Tax credits are now only going to be in effect till 2014. So at the moment there seems to be a sense of urgency to install a system now before the incentives are gone. What will happen when they are gone? Will the trend still have the momentum it has at the moment?

One thing is for certain, the cost of electricity will continue to rise. The debate that Global Warming is just some sort of mistake that over anxious scientist are miscalculating is no longer a valid argument. The population growth rate and the ever increasing demands for more and more power with new technologies and the afford-ability of these technologies to a wider audience will continue to strain our current power grids. After the 2011 Nuclear Power disaster in Japan the use of Nuclear Power is now something that may not be a wise option any longer for the California region. San Onfre Nuclear Power Plant is scheduled to close as precaution knowing that California is 100% prone to large earthquakes. So what will the market look like in the next 5 to 10 years. Will the demand for clean affordable electricity be there? Certainly! Will the cost of installing a Solar Panel system with out incentives make sense to homeowners? Good question?

Steven Ritz owner of Vista Home Improvements saw the growing demand in the Solar Panel market and created a subdivision of his company Vista Sun Systems. This is a division soley dedicated to meet the demands of the Solar Market specializing in the slaes and installation of solar panel electrical systems in the residential home market. It's his belief that there will be an increase in installations not a decrease after the the incentives are gone. As the technologies of the panels increase in electrical output and the cost of the panels decrease it wil still be very affordable to have a adaquate system offset the the cost of rising electricy prices from the power companies.

Lets look at an example: Say a homeowner is paying $300 in the year 2015 for the electricity portion of the power bill. By installing a system that would bring that down 90% to $30 a month. That annual savings would be $3,240. With an annual rise in cost of electricity of just 7% in the the year 2020 the consumer will pay $420 a month, and by 2030 that will increase to $827 a month. With a system in place the total savings would be over $90,000 in just 15 years. The electric companies have no intenetions of ever not raising prices. They never have not increased the power rates since the formation. So why sould they now or in the future? I think we can see a decrease in the cost of solar panels going from an average of $7.00 a Kilowatt to say $4.00 - $5.00 a Kilowatt in the next 5 years as the technologies and the manufacturing output increases. reducing the cost a 5K system from $35,000 to $22,500 this covers the current incentives savings. But the demand for cheaper electricity will be at an all time high.

In conclusion it seems to be that the Solar Power market is just getting started and the momentum is going to increase as time goes on. When your neighbor installs a system and says his bill is only $50 and your still paying $400 the smart thing to do is maybe consider a system for your home also unless your property does not adequate a system due to poor sun exposure or other circumstances. With rising electricty cost and decreasing solar electricity cost the future looks very bright for the Solar Power Markets in Southern California.
