New Infinea™ Tab for iPad® Transforms Shopping

(IPC) (www.ipcprint.com), which works with Apple®’s iPod® touch 4th generation and the iPhone® 4/4S, is now available for the iPad 2 as the Infinea Tab.

The Infinea Tab is a compact, easy-to-use unit that mates with the 30-pin connector on the iPad to add a magnetic stripe reader and a 1D or 2D barcode scanner; with optional Bluetooth® and/or RFID reader. It optimizes the functionality of the iPad as an efficient, convenient, mobile point-of-sale (POS) device for retailers that saves customers and staff time, frees up checkout counter space and eliminates long lines in stores.

With the iPad capable of inventory operations, corporate communications, Internet and Intranet access, along with customer signature acceptance and purchase receipts wirelessly printed or emailed, the Infinea Tab adds the ability to read barcodes, magnetic data from credit cards and loyalty cards, and read-write data via RFID.

In addition to POS, the Infinea Tab and iPad can be used with software written for other applications and industries, including expediting and automating inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification, lead tracking, inspection/work flow, dispatch, time/labor and lab and healthcare.

Software development resources and tools are available for the Infinea Tab so customers can program scanner and reader functions into their own software application.

Also offered for the Infinea Tab are a variety of protective cases and stands that include a mounting plate for vehicles, a handgrip strap and custom solutions.

Four Infinea Tab models are available:
•   Infinea Tab MSR – with a 3-track magnetic stripe reader
•   Infinea Tab MSR 1D/2D – with 3-track magnetic stripe reader and 1D or 2D barcode scanner
•   Infinea Tab MSR 1D/2D BT – with 3-track magnetic stripe reader, 1D or 2D barcode scanner and Bluetooth
•   Infinea Tab MSR 1D/2D BT RFID – with 3-track magnetic stripe reader, 1D or 2D barcode scanner, Bluetooth and RFID reader
