The Signature Room's Charity of the Month Program Benefits Bears Care Throughout the Month of August

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 2, 2012 - CHICAGO, Ill. –- The year-long Charity of the Month program at the Signature Room has donated over $1 million to more than 200 Chicagoland organizations since the program’s inception in 1993. The program was created by owners, Rick Roman and Nick Pyknis, and donates 10 percent of sales generated from the Signature Menu to the non-profit chosen for the given month. Throughout the month of August, the lucky non-profit that stands to benefit is Bears Care, the philanthropic arm of the Chicago Bears.

The mission of Bears Care is to support targeted programs in the areas of education, youth athletics, and medical research and health awareness programs focused on breast and ovarian cancer in the Chicagoland area.  For more information on Bears Care, please visit www.chicagobears.com/community.

The Signature Menu offers delicious options for every course, in addition to a specialty cocktail exclusively created for the month of August. Delight the pallet with a pomegranate margarita made fresh with Aguila tequila, Pama liquor and lime juice. Starters include sautéed mussels with coconut green curry and grilled jalapeño cornbread; chilled tomato gazpacho accompanied with crispy prosciutto, preserved lemon and toasted apricot kernel granola; or a caprese salad made with crisp heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, balsamic reduction and micro basil. Entrées include a crispy skin red snapper with orange scented fennel purée and sautéed baby bok choy or a grilled bison T-bone steak with sumac and dark coffee crust in natural jus. Finally, save room for a tempting dessert; classic rice pudding with bourbon poached peaches, almond ice cream and plum syrup.
