Edge IT acquires Small Business Specialist Certification from Microsoft

PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 2, 2012 - To acquire this designation, Edge IT has had to demonstrate expertise in planning, building, and implementing solutions for small businesses. As a member of the Small Business Specialist Community, Edge IT receives a robust set of benefits from Microsoft, including access to training material specifically designed for the small-business industry, marketing materials for reuse, and specific partner offers.

The Small Business Specialist Community, available as a competency-like designation as part of the Microsoft Partner Program was developed in response to input from customers and partners which expressed a need to build and maintain easier connections that enable business customers to quickly and readily identify technology partners which are best suited to support their needs.

As one of the many requirements for keeping their Small Business Specialist status, Edge It had to pass Microsoft's Small Business Sales and Marketing Skills Assessment. The assessment is designed to gauge the company's understanding and knowledge of the dynamics and dependencies of the small-business market, in addition to the value to small business of several software solutions, including Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 and Windows Small Business Server 2011.

In addition, at least one individual in the company had to obtain a certification which measures the ability to design, implement and deploy solutions for the small to medium-sized business market by using Windows Small Business Server 2011 and the Windows Server System™.
