Fluke, the Monopoly of Invention, seeks to save America from National Suicide

Fluke, the monopoly of inventions, so named by participants at the Detroit Maker Faire who sampled the game,  exposes players to thrilling scientific research, wacky inventions, stock explosions, gigantic wealth and legal duels. Players build a portfolio of cash, patents and research corporations as they maneuver through the Risk and Rewards in the wild, wild world of intellectual property. Players with the largest portfolio of assets wins.

Startups and small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. They are responsible for the vast majority of all new jobs created in the United States; they are the nation's greatest source of innovation; and they are critical to helping restore U.S. competitiveness," Center for Public Policy Innovation President and CEO Chris Long states. According to statistics, small businesses create 70 percent of the jobs in America, and technological innovation is responsible for 85 percent of our growth in per capita income. Communities become prosperous when companies can raise funding and sell products as these companies are able to hire employees.  For this reason, Corporate America and President Obama are demanding innovation. What they really want is inventions.  Innovation is defined as profitable inventions, mathematically represented as INNOVATION = INVENTIONS + PROFITS TM. Inventions are an act or instance of creating or producing by exercise of the imagination.  No one can predict which invention will be profitable. It is a gamble at best. The only way to win is to invent and keep inventing.

An invention revolution is severely needed as American immigration policies have set us on the path of  “National Suicide”. According to the article  Insourcing written by Wadhwa, V (2012). , Foreign Policy,Foreign-born students are America’s inventors.  Foreign-born students makeup 50% of post-secondary classes in STEM. Between 1995 and 2005, over 50 percent of technology companies started in Silicon Valley included one foreign-born co-founder. Nationwide, 25 percent of technology start-up companies had a foreign-born co-founder. The largest percentage of these co-founders came from India and China (both mainland and Taiwan). These foreign-born founded companies created intellectual property – patents, trademarks and copyrights, for products and services that generated $52 billion in revenues and created 450,000 jobs over this 10-year span. America’s immigration policies is returning foreign-born students to their native county accelerating global innovation competition. In order to keep the innovation ball rolling in America. America needs an invention revolution.
