Ganje says that this part of summer is typically when sellers who haven't gotten an acceptable offer yet tend to lower their prices. Between summer vacations and seasonally lower interest in home buying, sellers (particularly condo and loft builders) often resort to creative measures like lower prices or cash back at closing to compete for the buyers who are still in the market.
"The early part of summer this year saw a fair amount of demand for Downtown Minneapolis real estate, but sellers start competing more aggressively for buyers by mid-season. That means one thing: Deals."
Ganje, who is with Downtown Real Estate Group (http://www.yoururbanlife.com) in Minneapolis, is an expert at negotiating good deals for his buyers. Whether working with a private party, investment company, bank, or builder, he is a strong advocate for his clients' interests.
"I've found that bargains sometimes are made, not found. Having an intimate knowledge of all the condo developments and neighborhoods in the downtown area helps."
That knowledge of neighborhoods, amenities, and prices is what draws new clients to Ganje.
"Since I know where prices are at any given moment for downtown properties, I am far better prepared than most Minneapolis real estate agents to recognize a good deal and to negotiate one."
