Business Litigator David W. Kesselman Joins Weingarten Brown LLP

Former Blecher & Collins Partner Increases Breadth of Boutique Litigation Firm

Aug. 1, 2012 - PRLog -- Weingarten Brown LLP announced today that business litigator David W. Kesselman has joined the Los Angeles-based business and entertainment litigation firm as a partner.  Kesselman’s experience includes litigating antitrust, unfair competition, business tort, copyright, class action, wrongful termination and professional malpractice cases in both federal and state courts.

“David is an exceptional litigator and we’re thrilled to add his tremendous legal talents to our growing firm,” said managing partner Alex Weingarten.  “On a personal note, David and I have been friends for almost 20 years so this is an exciting professional and personal development.”

Before joining Weingarten Brown, Kesselman was a partner in the highly regarded litigation boutique, Blecher & Collins, where he worked on complex commercial litigation matters, including a number of high-profile antitrust and unfair competition cases.  Kesselman comes to Weingarten Brown with significant trial experience and has argued cases in both federal and state appellate courts.  He began his legal career as an associate in the Los Angeles office of Jones Day.

Kesselman, who has been recognized by his peers as a Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Star for 8 years running, is also an adjunct professor of law at Loyola Law School where he currently teaches courses in both U.S. and Global Antitrust Law.  He is currently serving on the Executive Committee of the California State Bar Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section, and he is a contributing author and editor of the leading treatise in California on antitrust and unfair competition law.

Kesselman earned his Juris Doctor from UC Davis School of Law, where he received the Lasky Antitrust Award and was a member of the UC Davis Law Review.  He completed a Master's degree from the London School of Economics in 1995 after graduating from UC Irvine in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in political science.

“I am very excited to join Weingarten Brown.  Alex is both an outstanding lawyer and a great friend, and I view this as a unique opportunity to expand my own practice and work with a group of talented litigators in a growing firm,” said Kesselman. “And I am so grateful to all of my colleagues at Blecher & Collins, especially my mentor and role model, Maxwell Blecher.  Max has been incredibly supportive and I’m gratified that we will still continue to work together on cases.”
