TI & Tia Norfleet Scheduled to Appear at Back to School Book Bag Giveaway in Metro Atlanta

TI and Tia Norfleet take time out to give to the community in a back to school book bag drive.

July 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Rapper Clifford “TI” Harris and NASCAR driver Tia Norfleet are giving back to the community by participating in the Back to School Book Bag Giveaway being held in the metro Atlanta area.  “As often as I can I love participating in events that encourage education” says, Clifford “TI” Harris.  “This event will do just that” says  Earl Little, a spokesperson for the event, “it will encourage education by providing all the necessities that a child needs to get off to a good start, with today’s economy we know it’s tough for parents to provide and this is our way to offer a helping hand”, he adds.  

TI known internationally for his appearances in the movie “Takers”, “American Gangster” & “ATL”, by his hit music and television appearances in the reality show “T.I. and Tiny: The Family Hustle”  & “Boss” definitely keeps him busy.  “It really speaks volumes to people’s character when they take time out of their busy schedules to participate in this type of community event” says Pastor Daniel Edwards, the Program Coordinator.  Pastor Edwards has an impressive background himself as former president of the NAACP Henry County branch, activist & church Pastor “The Rev” as some call him, has lead the fight on many community issues including eminent domain, human rights and has a current aspiration to serve as leader of the SCLC, (Southern Christian Leadership Conference), a supporter and sponsor of the event that has just recently donated more than 200 book bags to the back to school drive.  

Along with hundreds of youth attending also scheduled to appear is Tia Norfleet America’s first African-American female NASCAR driver, “Anytime there’s an opportunity to help children, I’m in” she adds.  Tia Norfleet is also the spokesperson for the 2012 Safeteen Georgia Driver Academy, Goodwill Ambassador to the National African American Drug Policy Coalition and promotes her literacy program called “Driven to Read” at events across the country.  “The momentum has really picked up on this back to school program” adds Pastor Edwards “I am really impressed with the support we have for this event and want to welcome everyone in the community to come and to participate”, he concludes.  

Other special guest & organizations participating include the The Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Robert & Nicola Jackson of the hit reality show “Amateur Millionaires Club” Street Zone DVD and rapper Big Dre.   The Back to School Book Bag Giveaway is free and will feature games, school supplies, family activities, haircuts, motivational speaking and inspirational programs for the youth.   The Back to School Book Bag Giveaway is Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm and will be held at Greater New Hope Christian Assembly located at 2200 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281.
