The creators of Midwest Huntfest wanted to have a show that was a little bit more fun than the average hunting, fishing and gun show. On Friday, August 10th from 12:00 - 9:00pm, Saturday, August 11th from 9:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday, August 12th from 10:00 - 5:00pm they are doing just that.. Through Tom McMillan’s connections in the country music world, they have managed to put on stage during the show, acts such as Neal McCoy, Chuck Wicks and Ricky Fugitt. “There isn’t an outdoors show of any sorts in the Wichita area, and I think folks that are interested in the outdoors will appreciate what we are doing by getting these big names and great vendors together in one building - it’s going to be a good time.” says Tom McMillan. Along with the standard merchandise booths, they wanted interesting attractions for the shows attendees. Booths such as; KDWP’s display of 100+ poached deer, Eagle Valley Raptor Center’s display of live native birds of prey. Bass Tubs of Oklahoma will entertain and educate with their 40 foot aquarium with fishing demonstrations and angling techniques. The public will have the opportunity to compete in a 3D archery competition coordinated by Diamond Archery, the winner of which wins a spot in our celebrity archery competition. Friday night, August 10th is dedicated to our younger hunters and fisherman and the first 300 kids (12 years and under) through the door receive a FREE quail call.
Other celebrity appearances include; Jacque McMillan from Tom’s Wild Life on GACTV, Buddy Groom (former MLB player), Jeff Danker, Daniel McVay and Brandon Adams, stars of Buck Ventures TV along with Bo and Twolla Newsom from OkieWild TV.
