These hosted servers are located inside the new CME Aurora (DC3) data center in Illinois and inside Equinix, Chicago (IBX). CME DC3 is the newest of the CME Group Data Centers providing microsecond access to all CME markets.

Colocation services for traders has been growing in popularity and proximity to the CME matching engine is critically important. The vast majority of volume occurs from servers within the exchange and brokerage firms that people trade through are also operating their servers at or near the exchange. With services in the new CME Aurora (DC3) and Equinix Chicago (IBX) colocation facility, connections to the CME Globex platform can be as fast as 220 microseconds (0.22 milliseconds) when trading Globex. Traders with the fastest connectivity have a speed advantage.
