July 31, 2012 - PRLog -- Since it's release in early June of this year, many frustrated with the rate of progress within the African-American population have found solice in the book, "The Split: An Assessment of the African-American Group Identity".

Without fanfare or being annointed by the traditional/established leadership within the African-American population, author Akinya Khalfani dives into subject material that few have had the courage to deal with.  He honestly explains why much of the failure occuring is actually the orchestrated behaviors of many within the African-American population.  He shows how racism has been used as an upward mobility tool for many of the current leaders within the group, while simultaneously suppressing the talented and innovative members of the population that hold answers to the crisis facing many, if not most, Blacks.

Questions like:
Why are the areas pre-dominantly populated by African-American traditionally poor?
Why do Blacks ask others to take care of internal problems they should take care of themselves?
Why do Black not invest in other Blacks, but invest in others?
Why do African-Americans select leaders that offer charismatic temporary relief and excitment over substantive solution oriented people from withi the group?

These and many more issues are addressed within the book "The Split: An Assessment of the African-American Group Identity".  Furthermore, unlike books in the past that point and blame others, Khalfani identitifies the behaviors prevalent throughout the population (including himself) that are causing the arrested development in Black people at a time when they should be excelling and making great contributions.  The book further addresses these issues from a ground level and offers a drastic proposal that suggests at least 3 separate groups within the African-American population that must, as the title suggests, split apart from each other if the more productive African-Americans are to thrive in the future.

Written in an unapologetic manner, this book is a must read for anyone that interacts with African-Americans on any level.  Find out why the Black co-worker behaves the way that he does.  Why the students in school often subscribe to a subculture of ideas that devalue education.  Why do popular athletes, entertainers and others turn their backs on the communities from which they come.  "The Split" will answer all of these questions and help understand the crisis facing African-Americans from a whole new perspective.  Find out why the current political, religious and academic leadership within the African-American population are attempting to suppress and discredit the book before others read it.
