(Pompano Beach, FL – July 30, 2012) Kids in Distress, a non-profit agency that provides shelter and services for neglected and abused children will be featured on the popular home improvement morning show “Designing Spaces” where they take center stage on the special makeover series, “Kids Spaces of Hope – A Labor of Love Makeover” which takes place at their Broward County Kids in Distress campus.
Make sure to watch this uplifting two-episode “Kids Spaces of Hope – A Labor of Love Makeover” series airing on August 2nd and August 9th on “Designing Spaces” on Lifetime Television.
With help from the “Designing Spaces Dream Team” a host of sponsors, a Florida Panthers hockey player, local celebrity musicians and a dedicated stream of volunteers, the Kids in Distress 2,800 sq ft run-down space that had been serving as an activity center for the children transforms into a multi-room clean, bright educational, nurturing environment that fosters well-being for all the children they serve.
Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach counties is a licensed nationally accredited agency working for prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and care and treatment of abused and neglected children.
“The Designing Spaces Dream Team was overjoyed and excited to be doing this makeover for Kids In Distress, in order to help highlight their dedication to the amazing work they have been doing in the community for years,” said Executive VP of Programming and Chief Operating Officer of Designing Spaces Lysa Liemer. “We wanted to successfully nurture and preserve the health and wellness of vulnerable children, which is a true labor of love.”
