The announcement was made to the dedicated and loyal followers in the social media realm, last month. Founder, Omar McGee, in conjunction with the board members of the esteemed school, selected this name to ensure an immediate association with the school’s innovative approach to education with the aspirations that are set for its students. Executive Preparatory Academy of Finance (EPA) is a public charter high school whose mission is to close the financial literacy gap within the minority community.
On changing the name Mr. McGee said, “Our school is committed to remaining relentless in our pursuit to prepare future entrepreneurs and leaders through education, commitment, and service. We want our name to reflect our focus. We want our name to reflect our goal. We want our name to reflect our promise to this community. Executive Prep will do our part.”
As for the need for this institution, more than 56% of the residents within the inner-city parts of Los Angeles have not graduated from high-school. With the arrival of Executive Prep comes a school that will change the futures of not only the youth that are enrolled, but the surrounding communities.
