Mr. Guthrie spoke to the audience for about an hour with time for a question and answer session after the conclusion of the class. Questions from the audience ranged from what assets could be protected from creditors in a basic living trust to whether an out of state will and durable power of attorney was still valid when someone now resides in South Carolina. Attorney Guthrie presented a large amount of information during the presentation and had a handout of terms and rules that would help everybody remember after the talk had concluded. Mr. Guthrie enjoyed being able to give back to the community by teaching a free class about a topic that is so important to everyone, but can be difficult to bring up or think about. Attorney Guthrie tried to make things entertaining and enjoyable while teaching essential points about planning an estate that the general public needs to be aware of. Everyone that attended the class had their questions answered, but Mr. Guthrie also encouraged the attendees to be teachers and share what they had learned with their friends and family. Attorney Guthrie is happy to be able to contribute to the community and looks forward to being to come back and make future free presentations about estate planning and other topics. Check with Mr. Guthrie’s website for more information and a schedule of future classes and talks.
