This new market plays on the dependence of consumers to mobile devices. With the boom of the iPhone and it's capabilities for day to day life has created the need for "on the spot" repair shops. One of those retailers has been site searching the areas around Bethlehem and Easton Pennsylvania to complete it's next stage of development within the immediate area.
Mobile Genius, a retailer offering repairs on smartphones and tablets has entered it's second phase of it's Easter Pennsylvania expansion. The company has been site searching for the next locations for it's repair business. The company has publicly reported that it has another (3) three new locations planned to open before the end of the 2012 year and an ambitious 8-10 store roll-out in the coming year of 2013. To see any type of expansion for such a young industry is remarkable, remember the iPhone has only been around for five years. Although this may be a long time in the technology scene for businesses it's only a small mark on the timetable of success.
The Allentown start up has had it's fair share of difficulties especially in it's early phases. "Cash flow and marketing is a constant battle for start-ups. (The main reason being) Most of the revenue created goes back into the operation for growth." Founder & CEO Josh MacGown commented.
With revenue coming in from multiple store locations along with a large online and corporate business, Mobile Genius is in a great position to expand boasting a great balance of assets and liabilities. The team behind the name has been working hard conducting marketing surveys and talking to locals to find the best area to offer their services. "We are a sought out service depending heavily on local searches and word of mouth" Company Manager Alex Stashko remarks.
"Expansion while exciting can not be taken lightly, many companies have failed during such growth, swelling to an overweight business almost overnight" says the twenty seven year old CEO Josh MacGown.
Mobile Genius opened it's latest retail location in the Montgomery Mall in late June. The Montgomery Mall resides within Montgomeryville County in North Whales, PA. A company wide initiative has been to provide consumers with over 100 different products and accessories. This was the companies first test of financial strength operating with much more overhead than ever before. The company started it's operation during the summer of 2009 out of a 145 square foot venue in downtown Allentown. First only offering iPhone screen repair the local business is now expanding it's service line up to take on all smartphones, MacBooks, and game consoles.

Hiring from within the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas, Mobile Genius plans to bring over 15 new jobs to the community within the next (8) eight months. Although this is an extremely small amount on a national scale, it's said that this industry has created over 250,000 jobs.
The company plans to finalize their space requirements over the next few weeks with construction to begin shortly after.
