As A Leading Toyota Dealer Serving Binghamton Toyota of Scranton Is Always Happy To Serve

Toyota of Scranton was eager to help the bicyclists of the Wounded Warriors Freedom Rider. Due to a clerical error between their normal transportation provider, the organizers of the WWFR turned to Toyota of Scranton for help with transportation.

July 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The Wounded Warrior Freedom Ride is an annual bike event in which wounded veterans bicycle all the way up the east coast to visit different historical landmarks and pay respects to their fellow veterans. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and funds for the Wounded Warrior Project, a non-profit organization aimed at helping out vets who were wounded in the line of duty.

Unfortunately, due to a miscommunication between a local car dealership who was commissioned to supply vehicles for ground support during the Wounded Warrior Ride this year and the organization’s planners, the event almost didn’t happen due to a lack of vehicles. Luckily, a leading Toyota dealer serving Binghamton, Toyota of Scranton, stepped up and supplied the organization with two 2011 Siennas.

The 2011 Siennas, now available for any Toyota shopper in Binghamton interested in a versatile full-sized SUV, was exactly what the Wounded Warriors Ride needed. The spacious SUV has a convenient retractable passenger seat that allows passengers with limited mobility easy access and exit from the vehicle. The spacious interior allowed for plenty of storage and comfort room for the passengers to enjoy between the exhaustingly far bicycle ride.

According to Sergeant Michael Brown, one of the coordinators of the event, without Toyota of Scranton’s help, in all likelihood the Wounded Warrior Ride would not have happened at all. As a leading Toyota dealer serving Binghamton, nothing meant more to Toyota of Scranton than to hear that something as simple as loaning out a pair of cars could have such a huge impact on the lives of so many.

Additionally, along the way the cyclists of the Wounded Warrior Ride found their own downed comrade to help nurse back to health. A small kitten, no older than 6 weeks old, was found abandoned on the side of the road right outside Gettysburg. The kitten was taken in and nursed back to health, eventually given a home with Sergeant Brown’s girlfriend, SSG Amanda Baldwin, and named Freedom’s Fluffball.
