Over the last few years the shop has grown and grown in popularity simply by our customers word of mouth. Unfortunately some of the small shops in the local towns have recently closed down meaning the nearest shop with the range of guitars that we have would be over an hours drive away.
So we decided to show the local guitarists that didn't know about us that there is a big guitar shop on their doorstep.
We set about getting lots of donations from our suppliers, just asking for guitar strings, mugs, t-shirts and anything else that they would like to contribute to help promote their brand. All our suppliers gave us something and we ended up with hundreds of donations. We were even lucky enough to get 3 main prizes. JHS gave us a Vintage V300 Acoustic Guitar as well as lots of other smaller donations. Line 6 gave a G30 Wireless Guitar System and Yamaha sorted us out with a Pacifica Electric Guitar. In return we promised to promote their brands in our ads
Since the advert went out was published in local newspapers, we have had hundreds of people wanting to have a go on our lucky dip. Everybody has won something. Some people have won a set of strings, others have pulled out a big prize.
Julian Hight from Frome was the first to win a big prize. He pulled out the Vintage V300 Acoustic guitar in a packed shop, to a round of applause, and then entertained us all while others took their turn on the lucky dip.
Clive Gotley won the Line 6 G30 Wireless Guitar system. He said that he was going to give this to his son Sam, who is in a local band in Bath.
The lucky dip promotion has seen a massive response and has worked very well in helping to promote our guitar shop to local residents. We have even taken photos of some of the winners and posted these on Facebook and Twitter. We have gained a lot of new customers, made a lot of people happy with a free gift and have helped promote the brands that we sell to the people of Frome and surrounding areas.
We would like to offer our thanks to all our suppliers that have contributed and helped make this possible.
