According to Don Leavitt, of the Utah Shakespeare Festival, “It's hard not to like ‘Peanuts’, and even harder not to like You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Most everyone can easily identify with Charlie Brown—the feeling of awkwardness, of never quite being in sync with the people around us, and the fear that no matter how hard we try, things might never, ever work out the way we want them to. But Charlie Brown also reminds us that there is a lot of happiness to be found in life, no matter how badly things may seem to go, and that true happiness is found in relatively simple things,” which the audience learns in the finale.

At Actor’s Rep, the show, with director Kimberly Rommel-Enright of Jupiter and musical director/choreographer Helen Buttery of Lake Worth, will be performed by alternating casts of teens, with some role trading. Most of the cast are from the Rep’s acting classes and workshops.
