Breathe to Think at Blake Street Studios in Raleigh, NC

July 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Breathe to Think is designed to be an open forum from which all performing and visual artists display. Breathe to Think promotes the entrepreneur spirit.

On August 17, 2012 at 7PM Breathe to Think will begin another chapter in its existence at Blake Street Studios, located at 300 Blake Street in the Historical City Market District of Downtown Raleigh.

Blake Street Studios houses the businesses of:

African Beauty Jewelry and Artifacts- Specializing in jewelry made of cow horns, seeds, coconut shells, beads, paper, and also Artifacts such as wood carvings, soapstone carvings.  Accessories include beautiful handmade handbags, shirts, scarves and much more.

Gaille Collection - Gaille Collection features silver jewelry and beaded jewelry along with fine craft items by.  

Julia Freifeld Fine Artist – Fine Art

Patina Collaborative -Illustration or Design (Whimsical and surreal artwork)

Scentsuosity - Creator of handmade natural products inspired by the power of nature to enhance the daily experience. Products are infused with pure essential oils, raw butters, mineral salts, herbs, emollient oils, floral waters and other organic & botanical ingredients.

Victoria Powers Studio Ten - includes works in acrylic painting, water color painting, drawing, recycle arts, weaving, felting and handcast paper making, black and white photography, sculpture, oil paintings and mixed media pieces.

Locally Gourmade- Specializing in selling locally gourmet food spices, preserves, sauces, baked goods and more.  

Breathe to Think generally consists of visual artists displays and meet and greets, feature performing artists display, business spotlights and a cash money open mic. Visual art is displayed for the purpose of promoting awareness of the featured visual artist. All artwork displayed is available for purchase. “As a visual artist myself I know how difficult it is to find locations to show and/or hang my work.” Mills said when asked what prompted her to establish the VAR (Visual Artist Realm) aspect of BTT.

BTT Spotlights some of the area’s most talented performing artists (poets, musicians, comedians, dancers, vocalists from all walks of art….jazz, folk, R&B, rock, conscious hip hop, country, alternative) for the purpose of providing them the much needed exposure that is crucial to an artist who is attempting to develop a fan base for the purpose of obtaining gigs, fine tuning their stage presence, and selling albums.

TTB (Ties the Bind) was incorporated into BTT to support the entrepreneur spirit. Local business owners and organizations are afforded the opportunity to promote and sell their services and/or products at BTT.

BTT Cash Money Open Mic was incorporated into BTT to add the freedom of expression. Open Mic participants are performing artists who perform at BTT, outside of the featured performing artist. They are normally vocalists, poets, comedians and musicians. All Open Mic performances are treated as an audition to be a feature performing artist at an upcoming BTT event.

About Robin Mills:
Breathe to Think was founded by Robin Mills, a native of Chocowinity North Carolina. In 2009 Mills built a website called “BreathetoThink.ning.com” for fun. She invited a handful of people to join the social network, they in turn invited a handful of people, who in turn invited a handful of people and before she knew it there were hundreds of members posting and sharing their poetry, music and visual art on the BTT website. Mills is a poet, writer, painter, vocalist, entrepreneur, marketing specialist and general supporter of the Arts.
