What are Buyers saying Amazon Kindle Fire:
" Bought the Fire as a gift after seeing it in action / in-person. Loved it from the start, very responsive, user friendly, great battery life, cheaper than the iPad. My only complaints is that it doesn’t have an expandable memory slot or camera, but for the price and quality it is a Great buy. Recommend for kids, parents and grandparents of all type."
" I wasn’t sure which kindle to purchase, but I am glad I chose the Kindle Fire. I waited over a year for a Kindle and now I finally have one. The Kindle Fire was definitely worth waiting for."

" I’ve been using Kindle Fire for about 6 months – enough time to decide what I really appreciate about it and what I’d like to see improved. It would be fair to say I’m nearly inseparable with my Fire and after my initial adjustment phase from Kindle Keyboard (where you can hold the device in any position or on the face front) to getting used to avoiding accidental touch on the display – there’s no way I can ever go back!
The Gorilla Glass is fantastic but I am even more satisfied with it in the leather cover which besides extra protection also allows stand alone ease-of-use. It took a while to get used to the slightly heavier weight from what I was used to with K/Keyboard but that’s a minor when comparing all the new features.
The start up and Shut Down response time is great in my opinion and Stand By mode really does not reduce battery much (if any). One of my other tablets are BlackBerry Playbook and Fire definitely has the upper hand on this point (but then again, the devices were designed with totally different purposes). Amazon Silk’s response time is fabulous and combined with a very good Wi-Fi connection I have no complaints. I love the display, high resolution, clear sound, smooth touch response and the good battery life (a HUGE improvement from my previous Kindle is that I can now read while it’s charging!).
One of my all time favorite “upgrades”
Besides reading LOTS of books, I can easily read my PDF documents and adding Dropbox has opened up even more possibilities. My Gmail account works fine but I’ll admit, it’s not great.
As and e-reader Kindle Fire is almost perfect and I wouldn’t exchange it for any other reader (right now). However I’m hoping Amazon can improve on a few points:
- The ability to create folders for our hundreds and thousands of books would be priceless!
- The country restriction is a rather big annoyance. Several books and Apps (in fact the entire Kindle App store is NOT available to non-US citizens). If only Amazon will realize that there are several international customers quite willing to pay for books and apps but that are not available due to location. This “forces” customers to revert to round-about ways to get eg. games – and these are available for free! (I got all the versions of Angry Birds for free, though it was a little extra effort to get it loaded but if I COULD buy from the App store I would’ve paid for it without a blink!)
My last issue is more with Amazon than about the Fire, I’m hoping they can find a way to accommodate customers while still maintaining their required control over accounts. I understand that they are trying to limit people sharing books with each other instead of buying from them but when it’s between husband and wife the restriction is frustrating. I started out reading my husbands Kindle until he bought me my own. When he upgraded me to the Fire I really started using it and bought my own books and wrote a couple of reviews. It quickly became clear that it’s not going to work to keep the shared account for 2 Kindles, especially when I’m reviewing a romantic novel under HIS name! I opened my own Amazon account but have to “phase out” of his slowly since I have a huge library on my Fire (on his account) and have to use my account on my Kindle for PC (and Android which is where the Playbook fills the gap). When I finally get to finish reading all my current books on his account I will be able to register my Fire on my account. Not very nice! And the same goes for “hey Honey, I loved this book, you should read it too!” but that means giving him my Kindle and I’ll be without it – even for a few days!!! (Amazon, can you tell I love reading and don’t want to part with my Kindle!) Please find us a solution for this.
Even with the country restriction I would still recommend the Kindle Fire as an e-reader to anyone, anywhere – and I certainly AM telling everyone I know to get one. Thanks Amazon for a great product! "
