July 27, 2012 - PRLog -- The fourth installment of the twelve week free public art projection based program, City Canvases Bridgeport, located in and around Downtown Bridgeport running from July 12th through October 2nd, presents mixed media visual artist, graphic designer and performance artist, Holly Danger. In addition to her already busy schedule Danger is a full time video editor, and spends her time creating motion graphics, video installations and live audio visual performances with a variety of collaborators.

For the August 2nd City Canvases projection, Danger has created a stop-motion animation called "Soul Seasons" using a thousand pieces of paper, utilizing green screen footage and graphic magic through the use of After Effects. This projection is a visual study about human nature, life cycles and our relationship to change. The animation was created using a technique called "décollage". The french word “décollage” translates into English as take off” or “to become unglued”, or “to be unstuck”. This is the process where an image is created by cutting, tearing away or removing pieces of an original image. This approach was used to symbolize the many layers that make up our lives and the passage of time. Our human nature is made up of a combination of all those layers. It’s part of our nature and part of our life cycle.

"I’ve poured a tremendous amount of energy and imagination into this piece and I hope you’ll all come out and watch it with me as it goes up next Thursday. It has been a labor intensive challenge for me to do while also having a full time day job and a life that doesn’t involve being behind a computer 24/7, but it has been worth every second.I can’t say that I’ve worked on a single piece like this in awhile where it has been 100% all my own. After months of working in my studio and obsessing over every detail I can say that still to this day that no one has seen any part of this video yet. I have not shown a soul. I have only posted a few still shots here and there in the digital world so you can see a snapshot of what is in store. With only a week to go I’m still not sure if I will show this to anyone yet. I like the idea that it is a direct reflection of what has come out of  my creativity in being completely solitary with my thoughts. Creating this piece has been meditation for me, and I hope you will love it as much as I do."

Danger's City Canvases art projection launch is slated to run on Thursday August 2nd at 1330 Main Street in Downtown Bridgeport at 8:30 pm with running time of 9 to 11 pm through August 7th.
