My Retirement Education Center Opens in Raleigh with Full Class Schedule

July 27, 2012 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. –  My Retirement Education Center, a Raleigh-based organization providing an unbiased resource for personalized retirement information in a pressure-free environment, officially launched with a full class schedule today. The organization offers Triangle residents of all ages and financial backgrounds a resource to learn about the basics of retirement planning so that they can feel confident in their decisions as they navigate what can be a confusing and complicated process.

The center was founded in March by Steve Gaito, a Certified Financial Planner TM (CFP®) practitioner with nearly 20 years of experience helping individuals, companies and nonprofits prepare for their financial futures. Gaito, who serves as the organization’s director, created My Retirement Education Center after noticing a community need for retirement information without a sales pitch. He developed the curriculum with a team of leading industry professionals, including Attorneys (JD), Certified Public Accountants® (CPA), Chartered Financial Analysts® (CFA) and Certified Trust and Financial Advisors® (CTFA).

“Whether you’re just starting your career or close to retirement, the financial decisions you need to make can be confusing and for many people cause a great deal of anxiety,” said Gaito. “Even with all of the professional services and products available to assist in the process, it’s hard to know who to trust and what’s best for you. My Retirement Education Center classes educate people on the basics of retirement planning so that they can be confident in every step they take.”

My Retirement Education Center offers small group classes and intimate workshops that incorporate case studies, group discussions and workbooks to guide participants through the process – all with zero products sold. Sessions start with a vital and very personal first step as the faculty work with participants to define what retirement is for each person individually, what they would like their lifestyle to be like and what they would like to do or accomplish during that time.

In classes for people close to retirement, participants then learn about the framework of a retirement plan, the process involved in creating a plan, how and when to prioritize goals, and the products commonly used to fund retirement. This includes a basic understanding of often confusing issues, such as Social Security, estate plans, equity income strategies, taxes, and insurance best practices prior to and during retirement. My Retirement Education Center also offers classes for young professionals just learning about 401Ks and making early retirement planning decisions, as well as classes for people of all ages wanting assistance evaluating employer retirement options.
