PRLog - July 27, 2012 - CARLISLE, Pa. -- Annually, the first weekend in August at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds showcases a lifestyle and audience unique to the Carlisle Truck Nationals. The event, held August 3-5, enters its 22nd year at America’s Automotive Hometown and each year gets bigger and better than the one before it. 2012 will feature the Carlisle return of an iconic Monster Truck, industry guests, a spectacular van display, a large selection of on and off-road accessories for sale and more.
Unofficially, the weekend begins on Thursday as part of set-up day, but beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, the first of more than 2,000 trucks will roll on grounds. As attendees traverse the grounds, there will be plenty to see and do, including an amazing display of vans as part of special attraction in Building Y. This display, made possible by www.CustomVan.com, will highlight over two dozen vans, both within the building and its surrounding showfield area. Imaginations run wild with these custom designs which include TV’s, computers, home theater systems and an amazing array of designs via unique imaginations.
Carlisle also showcases a great selection of parts and accessories as part of the swap meet and Manufactures Midway. Throughout the weekend, visitors can shop from nearly 450 vendors, including but not limited to Ford Motor Company, Skyjacker Suspensions, Borla Performance Exhaust, Meguiar’s Car Care Products, Mickey Thompson Tires as well as big rig parts and accessories. This event provides a world-class offering of on and off- road accessories to outfit light trucks including vans, Jeeps, and SUVs. Additionally, attendees can find great deals on anything and everything needed to outfit, upgrade or upkeep their current model vehicles to include installation of some items. Owners of current models and enthusiasts of trucks, Jeeps, or SUVs don’t want to miss the industry’s Light Truck Accessory Alliance, presenting a new product showcase of the latest parts and accessories available for new and current model vehicles. Moreover, the attendees can watch as the LTAA companies and contributors build and install many of the latest products and items on a Jeep during the event.
Shopping isn’t the only showcase during the weekend, as Bigfoot, known worldwide as the “first” Monster Truck, comes to Carlisle. Bigfoot will be joined by Backdraft, Megasauras and the Virginia Giant ride truck. Bigfoot and Backdraft will compete throughout the weekend on the east side of the WGTY main stage and at the conclusion of each of their battles, Megasauras, a fire breathing, car eating, transforming machine will roll in to terminate the remains of what the big trucks left behind. Also, enthusiasts young and old will enjoy a one-of-a-kind thrill courtesy of the Virginia Giant ride truck. The truck is a monster just like Bigfoot and Backdraft, only this ride has seats in the bed and provides rides around the grounds, including a trip over crushed cars, something that only takes place at Carlisle. Monster Truck excitement is best enjoyed through the V.I.P. Monster Package. This package provides exclusive access to the trucks and their drivers as well as premium seating.
No Carlisle Truck Nationals event would be complete without the Big Rig Show and Shine. With hot showers and food as well as ample space for the backbone of America to park, the Big Rig Show and Shine is a spectacular array of trucks, both customized and stock. The Big Rig Show and Shine will feature live music from Blackwater Jam and included in this year’s gathering will be at least three trucks designed and customized by the Clarion County Career Center, a high school located in Shippenville, Pennsylvania.
Shopping, Monster Trucks, displays and competitions including burnouts and beauty make the Carlisle Truck Nationals an event that is one of a kind, not just in Pennsylvania, but nationwide. Details on this and other events at Carlisle are available online at www.CarlisleEvents.com.
