PRLog - July 26, 2012 - Máire Treanor has spent years collecting samples of Irish Crochet Lace, as well as preserving the patterns and techniques developed since the nineteenth century. Máire is an ardent proponent of modern adaptations of Irish Crochet as practiced in Ireland, Eastern Europe and around the world.

A modern missionary for Clones Lace, Máire has taught crochet lace enthusiasts throughout Ireland, France and Ukraine. In the United States she conducts annual workshops at Lacis Museum of Lace and Textiles in Berkeley CA, and many other venues throughout the country. A frequent contributor to Interweave Crochet and other publications, Máire Treanor is the author of “Clones Lace: The Story and Patterns of an Irish Crochet”, published by Mercier Press and Lacis. Máire also directs the annual Clones Lace Summer School in Clones, County Monaghan.Workshop size will be limited to assure students receive personal instruction and assistance.
