Dallas Film Society Appoints Five New Members to the Board of Directors

Diverse and unique talent join the Dallas Film Society Board of Directors

July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- The Dallas Film Society, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that celebrates films and their impact on society, has appointed five of Dallas’ leading business men and women to the Board of Directors.   The announcement was made by Lynn McBee, Chairman of the Dallas Film Society Board of Directors.

“I am pleased to announce that Benton Bagot, Brad Berkley, Clare Freeman, Tara Lewis and Ian McGloin will all be joining the Dallas Film Society Board of Directors,” said McBee. “Each of these five individuals brings talent, unique experience and vision to their new position, and we are excited about the character they will add to the Dallas Film Society as we enter into our seventh year. Their involvement in the growth of the Dallas Film Society provides the perfect opportunity for us to continue building our reputation at a local, national and international level.”

Benton Bagot currently works for YouPlus Media and is a graduate of both the University of Texas and St. Mark’s School of Texas. While in school, he studied and worked with several film related companies including Violet Crown Cinema, Paintbrush Productions and for Ridley Scott at Scott Free Productions.

Brad Berkley is Chief Executive Officer of Radiant Media. An entrepreneur since college, Berkley has founded and sold companies ranging from manufacturing to media services. Currently, Radiant Media focuses on outdoor advertising with an emphasis in Dallas, New York, and Los Angeles with the majority of business being driven by the movie industry. He has a business degree from the University of Kansas and is involved with various charities throughout Dallas.

Clare Freeman is President and C.E.O. of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce. She works closely with member organizations and government to provide business opportunities for both Texas and Israeli companies. Another Dallas native, she attended Hillcrest High School, and later worked in the advertising world at The Dallas Morning News and at television studios in Denver and Sacramento.

Tara Lewis is Vice-President, HEYCO Energy Group and partner at Rosette Energy Partners. She is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of these oil & gas exploration companies. In addition to these work activities, Lewis volunteers extensively in the arts with TACA and the Dallas Children’s Theater.

Ian McGloin is Producer and Partner for Strange Loop Entertainment. He is involved in the movie industry at this independent production company and small financier of feature films and media entertainment. Recent projects include LOVELY, STILL and the award winning films TREELESS MOUNTAIN and DON’T LET ME DROWN.

The officers for the upcoming fiscal year include returning Chairman, Lynn McBee; Vice-Chairman, Ruth Mutch; Treasurer, Mary Hatcher; Secretary, Terry Schpok and Assistant Secretary and Treasurer, Jim Nugent. Returning Board of Directors include Lauren  Embrey, John Hersker, Jennifer Houser, Tristan Simon, Steve Stodghill, Don Stokes, Mersina Stubbs, Carter Tolleson and Ellen Winspear.
