St. James’s Place today announces the launch of the St. James’s Place Next Generation Academy, an extension of its in-house training Academy, inviting the sons and daughters of current St. James’s Place Partners to undertake a two year intensive apprenticeship with a view to joining their family business within St. James’s Place Wealth Management.
Like the current Academy, the Next Generation Academy offers bespoke training for sons and daughters of existing Partners who want to join their parents’ business. Candidates on the two year programme become qualified to diploma level and subsequently work with a mentor in order to gain sufficient experience to operate independently.
St James’s Place experienced significant demand from Partners to create this incarnation of the Academy after the success enjoyed by the first two intakes following the re-launch of the Academy in January 2012. A number of Partners in the St. James’s Place Partnership have already successfully brought their children into their businesses with clients benefitting from the continuity that this creates.
Adrian Batchelor, Director of the St James’s Place Academy, said: “St. James’s Place Partners are keen on the Next Generation Academy for two reasons. Firstly, they know it works; there are over forty St. James’s Place Partnerships that have successful family businesses. Secondly their clients appreciate the maintenance of a long term relationship with their wealth manager or a member of their family. Often the Partner’s son or daughter will advise the client’s son or daughter so the St. James’s Place relationship passes through generations. We are excited to begin this new venture parallel to the existing Academy to attract new and young talent to wealth management. ”
