DRB says companies can do more to reduce accidents in the workplace

DRB, the leading manufacturer and supplier of robust loading docks and car park barriers, says companies can do more to help reduce accidents in the workplace.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 26, 2012 - The claim comes after research recently revealed that 88% of occupational accidents occur due to human factors, with only 6% attributable to machines. DRB says while training and procedures have a major role to play in reducing the number of incidents, companies can help by investing in highly visible safety gates and barriers.

The firm says yellow car park barriers and loading docks provide extra protection that raises awareness of hazards amongst employees to help reduce the number of accidents that occur.

"There is a lot more than companies could be doing to raising awareness of hazards, from better signage and staff training to implementing new procedures," a spokesperson for DRB commented. "However, even with this in place, human error could still occur; which is why car park barriers and loading docks are so important. They're highly visible, so they stop employees from entering areas where they could get hurt."

DRB's loading docks are available in a variety of widths and stand fully vertical when open. They ensure there is no encroachment into the access area, reducing the risk of people mistaking the dark opening for floor level.

Meanwhile, the firm's car park barriers are designed to help companies deal with a number of different issues, including employee and visitor safety, security and traffic management. Products range from the standard car park barrier to a number of height restriction barriers.
