Access4artists Announces July Contests For Independent Artists

Opportunity for musicians, dancers and other unsigned artists can help propel careers

July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- DETROIT, Mich. – Access4Artists (a4a) announces five competitions during the month of July, each awarding the up-and-coming artist with a career-benefiting prize.

The newest online talent discovery platform provides artists a free online space to promote their work and connect with their fans to earn the chance to get in front of high profile industry leaders that could potentially launch their career. Entering the monthly contest is a great way to gain the exposure that every unsigned artist craves.

This month’s contests fall under the following categories:

Michigan Area Hip Hop Artist Contest
Hip Hop artists have the chance to win a chance to perform at the 2nd Annual Sparkfest, a day-long hip hop, art and fashion event. Sparkfest will take place at The Crofoot in downtown Pontiac on August 4, 2012. Artists must upload at least two pieces of material to their a4a profile. The number of votes received throughout the month of July will determine the top five artists. The final decision will be made by the a4a team and announced in August. Each of the top five artists will receive two tickets to attend the event.

Dance Mogul Magazine Contest
Dancers can upload a video of their dance performance and campaign for votes on their profile. The dancer with the most votes will be featured in the Dance Mogul Magazine blog and in the magazine quarterly. Entries must receive a minimum of 150 votes to qualify.

Spoken Word Contest
Spoken word artists can submit a 1-3 minute video based on the theme, “What would the world look like if you ruled it?” At the beginning of the video, the artist must state that they are entering the Access4Artists July 2012 Spoken Word Contest. Artists may upload their video to their a4a profile or link to a YouTube or Vimeo video. The Access4Artists team will validate the contest entry form and add the artist to the list of entrants. Artists will be notified once they have been added. The first place winner will receive $500 and be featured on the a4a blog. The second place winner will receive $100 and also be featured on the a4a blog.

Cover Contest
Access4Artists invites its members to submit their cover of Usher’s “Scream.” The highest number of votes will win the first place prize of $3,000 worth of studio time at the studio of their choice. The second place winner will receive $500 of studio time. Artists must fill out the entry form on the Access4Artists website and will be notified once their entry has been added to the contest. Artists must also state at the beginning of the video that the submission is intended for the July 2012 Cover contest. Artists may not sing over the original soundtrack and must re-create the song in their own way. Videos may be uploaded to an Access4Artists profile through the a4a server or by linking a YouTube or Vimeo video.

Indiegogo Contest
Artists have the chance to sponsor a new or existing Indiegogo campaign of their choice. Indiegogo provides a platform for people who want to raise money for a cause to tell their story and raise awareness. Artists will invite their friends to vote for their cause or back their idea. The artist with the most votes will be awarded $500 toward their campaign, a blog interview and inclusion in a4a press.

All contests require the completion of an online entry form that can be found on the Access4Artists website, www.access4artists.com/pages/contests.

Contests will run on a month-to-month basis, allowing artists in each of the 11 talent categories the opportunity to have their craft showcased for the world to see. Access4Artists also features contests for their fans, offering prizes such as $100 Visa gift cards and a 16gb Apple iPad that were awarded in April.

Artists and fans can learn more and join the movement for free at Access4Artists.com.
