The exercise, which centres around a five foot high density foam beam that sits just inches off the ground, is an innovative, fun and challenging experience. “You do it barefoot, all the time burning fat, firming muscles and improving stamina,” continued Stacy, “but it also gives you improved posture, flexibility and a stronger core.”
Stacy Weeks launched Red Yew earlier this year, and is already offering classes from venues in mid-Cornwall. She is introducing Beamfit as an alternative to the more traditional exercise classes.
“It’s great fun,” she added, “whatever your fitness level. You feel like a child again balancing on the beam, and may not realise how much you’re working your muscles and your whole body until the next day!”
You can try Beamfit for yourself at a free taster session at St Austell Rugby Club on 30 July. There are 30 minute classes running at 10:00, 10:30 and 11:00, each with just 10 places available. All equipment is included so just book your place with Stacy by emailing stacy@redyew.co.uk, then show up and have a go.
Tasters will also be running in Truro at The Inspirational Fitness Studio on 31 July. For more information, see www.redyew.co.uk.
