By: Oberon, Inc. The Model 1790 Power over Ethernet Interlock Switch (PoE ILS) is an optional security component specifically designed to be installed in Oberon enclosures. Any unauthorized enclosure opening can be sensed and logged by the wireless system using the PoE ILS. This can be of great value in a Government/FIPS environment, where periodic monitoring of tamper-proof labels is necessary, by reducing the need for physical inspections via automatic notifications. Full-time monitoring of network physical security benefits any environment where security measures are a priority. When installed in-line with a PoE Ethernet connection to a Wi-Fi Access Point, the Model 1790 PoE ILS will disrupt the incoming power to the WAP when the enclosure door or lock is opened. Enterprise class access points will log this event, as will wireless controllers. The new product adds an additional layer of security to systems protected by Oberon enclosures, which provide physical security for wireless access points and other telecommunications equipment and a sophisticated aesthetic suitable for any environment. Enclosures are designed for physical strength, integrating strong ABS plastics that are also virtually invisible to RF signals, making them Ideal for Wireless NetworksTM. Enclosures feature locking doors and are attached directly to building structure for additional protection. The Model 1790 is designed to fit Oberon enclosures based on the Model 1052 back-box. The Model 1052 is one of Oberon's most flexible designs, available in a variety of styles featuring doors designed specifically for use with many of the most popular wireless access points on the market. The Adapter/Retrofit Doors can also be ordered separately, simplifying the process of migrating from one wireless access point to another with the same back-box in place. The company, well known for creating custom enclosure designs for specific customer applications, also invites inquiries for companies seeking similar applications for other Oberon enclosures.
