July 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Trivie, the ultimate battle of wits played with friends, surpassed 46,000,000 questions answered in just over 30 days from its quiet public release in June, 2012.   Based upon Trivie’s MMO infrastructure and long term strategy, co-founder and CEO, Lawrence Schwartz believes that this massive market response is just the beginning.

“Trivie is an extension of the normal human thirst for knowledge,” said Schwartz.  “What Trivie players quickly discover is that they know a lot, about a lot … and it’s to fun to share that knowledge with friends.”  Schwartz noted Trivie’s ever-growing database of more than 75,000 questions in 300+ varied categories helps accommodate that desire for trivia in a fun, challenging asynchronous game.  “Trivie is all about the information we acquire, store, discuss, and ponder,” Schwartz commented. “Trivie is a quick, fun, addictive game that anyone can play, and everyone can relate to.”

Trivie allows players to challenge friends via Facebook, contacts, or at random.  Categories can be chosen by players, or at random within the game.  As with many “With Friends” games, players win Trivie tokens, the in-game currency that allows players to wager, upgrade avatars, and increase the fun.  Final Trivie is often a battle of wits where players can overcome a poor showing by betting it all on just one question.

Schwartz envisioned a trivia game for iOS that captured the thrills of a game show.  “We believe the user experience is so important for engagement.  That’s why Trivie feels exactly like a game show—from the visual layout, all the way down to the music and sound effects,” Schwartz says.

Trivie’s design includes a “tell me more” button, and players can actually learn more about a topic, and review rounds in detail.  “Although we didn’t originally intend to have an educational game,
people love the in-game learning,” said Schwartz.

Trivie is steadily rising up the charts, and gaining some notable players.  According to Twitter, both Michael Strahan, former NY Giant, All-Pro, and current NFL Fox Sports commentator, and Chord Overstreet, of Glee are Trivie devotees.

A free version of Trivie is available at the App Store.  In addition, a paid version of Trivie is also available for 99 cents.

Trivie Specs:  iOS 5.0 or later. iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPad, iPod touch (3rd generation), and iPod Touch (4th generation).
