New Event Wellness Company Launches Major Initiative in September to Combat Childhood Obesity

(LOS ANGELES, CA)  Well-Play is proud to present a new dance revolution in urban fitness called Keep Move’N. This fun, interactive program infuses hip-hop dance with health and nutrition concepts to showcase the many ways that kids can get healthy in their everyday lives—thereby reducing the risk of childhood obesity and diabetes.

Well-Play will launch its initiative with a special kick-off event in Inglewood, California on September 8, 2012, at Faithful Central Bible Church, 321 North Eucalyptus Avenue, Inglewood, CA 90301.

This event will see over 2,000 participants, ages 10 to 15, in our “Wellness Village” and “Dance Revolution Lounge.” The “Wellness Village” hosted by our partnering youth organization, FAMLI Inc., will feature interactive nutrition education stations and is free to the community.

“The Dance Revolution Lounge,” hosted by Tommy the Clown, is a cutting-edge experience where hip-hop and flash-mobbing turns into explosive urban fitness. Admission to the lounge is $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door.  

Pre-event activities designed to engage, educate and excite will be found on the Keep Move’N website. This includes video of the pre-choreographed dance routines that will be featured inside the “Dance Revolution Lounge.” Participants will also be able to submit videos to showcase their own signature urban fitness dance moves.

Local community partners will also get in on the fun by participating in our virtual 30-Day Scavenger Hunt. This activity will drive traffic to our partner websites where kids can discover daily fit facts, while also learning what healthy choices exist within their neighborhoods. Answer forms will be submitted on event day and the winner will receive a special prize from one of our sponsors.
