PRLog -- The Crestwood Festival Center has a new tenant-Choices of Alabama LLC. It’s not the usual retail store you would expect to find in a shopping center, but is an outpatient behavioral health clinic. Choices of Alabama is co-owned by husband and wife Jesse and Lisa Cover. Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of clinical and administrative experience in the mental health field. As she witnessed the dramatic increase in the number of people seeking mental health services, Lisa decided to pursue opening a community based treatment center. The purpose was to help overburdened state facilities and local emergency departments, while offering high quality services in a relaxed atmosphere. “I am thrilled to open Choices of Alabama in the Crestwood Festival Center! Opening a behavioral health office in a shopping center is a real step forward in helping to remove the negative stigma of mental illness. I have always tried to help clients and families understand that seeking help for mental illness is just like going to a cardiologist for heart problems. You shouldn’t feel ashamed of going to the doctor, whether it’s for your heart or your brain,” said owner Lisa Cover. She continued, “Everyone asks how we chose the name of the business. The name Choices of Alabama is based on our Vision for the business to empower individuals to become active in the decisions and choices that affect their physical, mental and spiritual health.” Choices of Alabama opened in July 2012, and is already seeing a large number of inquiries from local physicians seeking help for their clients. Choices of Alabama offers evening/weekend hours to accommodate school and work schedules. They are conveniently located in the Crestwood Festival Center, where there is also a MAX bus stop for public transportation users.
