July 25, 2012 - PRLog -- (NASHVILLE, Tennessee — July 25, 2012) “If I wasn’t an illusionist, I’d want to be a rock musician…” exclaims Sammy Cortino, when asked about his other artistic interest. Cortino is adapting to the area: merging his livelihood with his other love of music. On August 1st with Nashville powerhouse Omega Swan, he will bring a new concert format to The Rutledge’s stage that will blend the intensity of live rock music with the rawness of live magic, creating an unprecedented visual and aural experience. He’s performing large-scale stage illusions on a club stage while a live rock band backs him.

Instead of demanding a captive audience for the magic and using Omega Swan as a backing band; Cortino becomes the expressive medium of the music. He’s the visuals and the band is the backbone of the whole production. Cortino brings to the table his background in performing arts, having performed professionally for 12 years. He recently moved to Nashville from North Carolina to set the Music City as his new base of operations.

After this, what’s next for Cortino? He’s off to North Dakota next month for a 3 week residency in Medora before showcasing his mastery of illusion in Miami and Grand Rapids.

Track him on the official Sammy Cortino website, http://www.SammyCortino.com
