Newest Watermark Excursion Yacht, RAVEN, to Perch in Baltimore

Iconic 1900-steamship inspired design, modern conveniences define Baltimore’s newest excursion boat

July 25, 2012 - PRLog -- ANNAPOLIS, MD -- RAVEN, Watermark’s newest excursion yacht, at 99-feet long and two decks high, is no baby ‘bird.’   Known for iconic images on the Chesapeake Bay, including Annapolis’ Harbor Queen – now celebrating her 40th birthday – Watermark brings to Baltimore the height of classic form married with the elegance and convenience of modern interiors and functionality.

“Several years ago, Baltimore requested an iconic vessel, with a connection to Baltimore’s truly significant maritime heritage and now Watermark is delivering,” says Debbie Gosselin, President of Watermark.  “We know RAVEN will be everything to Baltimore that Harbor Queen has been to Annapolis – there is simply nothing like her on the Bay. We are proud to bring this grand vessel to the harbor as we continue our growth and investment in Baltimore.”

Inspired by the steamship lines from the 1900’s, and with her signature purple hull, RAVEN was designed for both luxurious private charters and stylish public cruises.  She was built by Scarano Boat Builders in Albany, New York, who was chosen because of their expertise in creating modern classic yachts. She took 15 months to build. RAVEN’s climate controlled main deck is spacious with wood-trimmed windows and beam ceilings along with a bar and media wall.  Her details include:

•   capacity for 149 seated guests
•   99’ long, 28’ beam
•   deep purple hull
•   a ‘wave’ wall with Hi-Def widescreen TV
•   pebble textures with cherry-toned woodwork
•   luxuriously tiled bathrooms with superior appointments
•   a sunroof on the second deck and
•   spectacular view of the Baltimore Harbor and the Chesapeake Bay.

RAVEN is available all year-long (climate controlled) for private charters and is the second Watermark excursion boat in Baltimore and the 13th in the Watermark fleet.  ANNAPOLITAN II has been offering excursion tours in Baltimore since 2009.  RAVEN will be docked at the Light Street Finger Piers at the Inner Harbor.

“As history tells us, Baltimore is the ‘port that built a city,’” says Debbie Gosselin.  “RAVEN is considered a ‘heritage’ vessel and as such Watermark is pleased to continue that unique and distinctive tradition of maritime ‘firsts’ in Baltimore."
