Zylog Canada Announces a New Collaboration with CompTIA for Troops to Tech

Zylog Canada and CompTIA now collaborate to help veterans get the certifications they need and access to jobs in the IT field.

PRLog - Jul. 25, 2012 - Toronto, Ontario (POST) July 25, 2012 – As a result of the newly created alliance between Zylog Canada and CompTIA, Zylog Canada will help employ the CompTIA educated veterans thanks to the Troops to Tech program.

The Troops to Tech program is designed to assist veterans who have an interest in IT obtain cutting edge education, certification and job placement resources in order to be successful in the ever growing and evolving IT industry. Troops to Tech Careers is founded on the "Learn-Certify-Work" model, which is intended to create a clear pathway for veterans who want to start a career in IT.

As the global IT industry association, CompTIA provides vendor-neutral certifications that measure foundational skills. With a CompTIA certification, veterans show employers that they possess the right skills to do the job regardless of which hardware or software vendor they would work for. Many of these exams are also prerequisites or electives for more advanced vendor certifications. It truly is the starting point for a career in IT. Plus, earning a certification not only proves that veterans have the right skills, but also the dedication and commitment to learn and evolve.

“We feel a strong sense of responsibility to support our veterans, and this is one small way that we can endeavor to repay them for their sacrifice,” said John Mehrmann, CEO of Zylog Systems (Canada) Ltd. “We are grateful to CompTIA for the opportunity to participate in such a noble initiative.”
