Quick, easy setup and simplicity for SMB owners to manage and control data
Setup of the TeraStation™ 5000 series through an intuitive web interface is quick and simple, with minimal downtime to operation. Sensitive, important office data is automatically encrypted in the TS 5000 using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard), a high standard of encryption initially used by the U.S. government, now used as a benchmark for global standards.

The new web interface for the TS5000 has been improved to feature 2 modes of management; Simple and Advanced. Business owners with little technical training can easily manage settings for the TS 5000 and configure the NAS to function effectively for the different users within the SMB. Managing permissions to access different file servers or commanding the TS 5000 series to execute different tasks are uncomplicated with the new TeraStation™ Web Interface’s clear layout. Shutting down the TS 5000 remotely takes 1 simple command as opposed to the 4 level process before which further empowers business owners with full control over their NAS set up in office environments.

The TS 5000 incorporates the Intel Atom dual-core processor & DDR3 2GB that allows for the seamless, concurrent multi-tasking. With this updated technology, users can be performing different tasks securely, with fast performance while the TS 5000 perform indexing, replication, and back up tasks in the background.

Unique to Buffalo™, the TS 5000 is the only product in its class that can simultaneously act as both a NAS and IP SAN (Internet Protocol Storage Area Network Storage). Featuring the iSCSI (Internet Small Computer Systems Interface) Target Support Internet Protocol (IP), the TS 5000 empowers Business owners to easily allocate space within their NAS to effectively function as independent virtual servers for the SMBs different users; e.g.: Finance, Human Resource, Marketing departments etc... With the TS 5000’s SMB Log, business owners can easily track activities by all users assessing data within the company on the NAS.
