Hot New Philly Sports Movement brings Basketball Camp to Underprivileged Youth in Jamaica

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 24, 2012 - From July 30 through August 3, 2012, The Philadelphia Mans Basketball League (PMBL) is teaming up with Breds Treasure Beach Foundation to host the first annual Treasure Beach Basketball Camp for youths in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. Over the five-day camp, 150 of the islands’ youth will participate in individual and group clinics, shooting and skills competitions, team practices, and games. The coaches and camp counselors will include former Division 1 NCAA basketball players, current local Philadelphia high school coaches, and several of the dedicated PMBL leaders.

Furthermore, the PMBL will be providing the campers with daily bus transportation to and from the camp, three meals a day, sneakers, socks, backpacks, reversible jerseys, and tee shirts. We are also donating to the host facility four (4) portable basketball hoops, four (4) team benches, and two (2) portable waterproof sets of bleachers, which will be used at the camp, and for future facility events, such as soccer or tennis.

The Philadelphia Mans Basketball League is a highly competitive league of 250 young professional men from the Philadelphia area. The PMBL is comprised of members, age 24-40, who work in the fields of law, medicine, professional sports, pharmaceutical sales, hospitality, and real estate. Additionally, PMBL is unique in that it combines the most popular elements of fantasy sports with high-level recreational athletics. This exciting combination has produced Philadelphia’s most competitive and fastest growing interactive basketball social network.

In addition to producing the most competitive basketball league in Philadelphia, the PMBL is also committed to charitable work and community service. This summer, in addition to the Treasure Island Basketball Camp, the PMBL hosted a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament in Ocean City, New Jersey, and the proceeds benefited Big Brother Big Sister and CTC Lymphoma
