Ida Tarbell, an investigative journalist and best-selling author, took on Standard Oil with her book, “The History of the Standard Oil Company,” exposing the greed and corruption associated with Rockefeller and his company.
The feud between the two has been well-documented and is an integral part of American history, but surprisingly, has yet to be depicted in a feature film -- until now.
Shannon Factor, writer/producer and founder of Cinespire Entertainment, previously announced the distribution of a script for a Rockefeller-
“We’ve had a very positive reception to the script,” said Shannon Factor, who circulated the story among major Hollywood executives.
“The Rockefeller saga is still relevant to this day and the planned film will focus on Tarbell’s relentless efforts in rooting out white-collar crime and corrupt business practices.”
Conducting countless hours of investigative research and drawing from public domain sources, Factor comprised the script with Tarbell as the protagonist and follows her trials and triumphs while taking on America’s powerful business establishment. Her brave efforts and best-selling book would eventually make her one of the most influential women of her time.
Now, with the hopes of financing soon in place, Factor is anticipating the pre-production process to commence in the near future.
“We’re hoping to secure the financing we need to green-light this project and make some exciting announcements soon,” Factor said.
