Interactive video-based elearning offers more effective learning for clinical research professionals

A groundbreaking interactive elearning module combines state-of-the-art video lecture capture with best-in-class professional training to provide more engaging and effective certified training in the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

July 24, 2012 - PRLog -- The Institute of Clinical Research, Orchestrall Group and Sonic Performance Support have today launched the first in a series of groundbreaking interactive elearning modules that combine state-of-the-art video lecture capture with best-in-class professional training to provide more engaging and effective certified training in the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

"We're really excited about this new learning platform for continued professional development," said Ian Hau, CEO of Orchestrall Group. "This is the first in a series of modules that we'll be launching over the next 12 months, providing best-in-class training in GCP and other aspects of the clinical research process and healthcare." Initially available in English and Chinese, the module will also be translated into other languages.

"Watching and listening to experts discussing concepts like informed consent and essential documents involves the student far more than simply reading about them," said Jörn Oelze, CEO of Sonic Performance Support. "This increased engagement, combined with interactive exercises, makes learning more effective and has greater impact on how the student works in future. It's as close to face-to-face training as distance learning can get!"

Participants can access the system at any time, from anywhere in the world. They can work through the lectures and exercises at their own pace, repeat segments, or return to the content later.

The course content was developed by Sue Fitzpatrick HonFICR CSci, one of the most widely respected clinical research trainers. The module will be supported by a network of experts, available to answer queries and foster greater understanding. On successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate that is recognised by employers and regulators worldwide.

"Today, many more clinical trials are undertaken throughout Asia, South America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, increasing demand for well-trained personnel in those regions," says Dr Paul Wathall MICR, CEO of the Institute of Clinical Research. "The most experienced trainers in this sector are based in Western Europe, North America and Japan. This system enables professionals to learn from the best trainers, without leaving their office."

Corporate customers can provide access for new starters or entire teams, with the option to integrate with existing Learning Management Systems via a SCORM-compliant licence. To arrange a demo and discuss corporate packages, contact info@icr-global.org.

Individuals can purchase access through a simple interface for only $150. To find out more, and to view samples of the module, visit http://h1.research-elearning.com.
