In just a few months, the initiative has earned Bluecycle the award for ‘Best Newcomer’ as voted for by more than 1,000 car retailers, who determined the winners of the annual Car Dealer Power Awards, organised by Car Dealer magazine.
Bluecycle’s ‘Retail Ready’ online forecourt works in partnership with Solus Accident Repair Centres. Only selected vehicles are eligible for sale, including those that have suffered minor damage or previously stolen cars that have since been recovered, which are undamaged.
Prior to auction, vehicles are fully repaired and restored to the highest industry standards by Solus, using its network of Kitemark certified body repair centres. Cars hold a valid MOT certificate (where applicable) and are HPI clear. Buyers must be registered with Bluecycle prior to gaining access to auctions.
In order to reduce costs and environmental impact wherever possible, the new initiative aims to use fully serviceable ‘green parts’ in the repair process. These are sourced from donor vehicles without compromising the quality of the repair.
Explaining why Bluecycle was the winner, James Baggott, Editorial Director, Car Dealer Magazine, said:
“The Car Dealer Power Awards began three years ago and are the only awards voted for by dealers. This year we received a record number of entries and for the ‘Newcomer of the Year’ category, we asked readers to name the company that has achieved something truly outstanding. Dealers voted for Bluecycle’s ‘Retail Ready’ initiative because of its novel service, professional attitude and because it offers something totally different.”
Commenting on winning, Guy Spence, Managing Director, Bluecycle, said:
