Girls4Science to Host Summer Science Social at Museum of Science & Industry

July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- (CHICAGO) -- Girls4Science (G4S) will have their 4th annual Summer Science Social on Saturday, August 11, at the Museum of Science & Industry. Guests will enjoy remarks from Megan Montgomery, Assistant Chief Pilot at Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. G4S will also host a science poster contest and recognize participants for their participation in the Saturday Science Academy. At the conclusion of the event guests will have the opportunity to participate in various hands-on activities around the museum in order to gain insight into science and technology through exposure to scientific artifacts that allow them to look at science through a wider spectrum.

Girls4Science is a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing girls in Chicago, ages 10-18, to science, technology, engineering and math. G4S focuses on developing skills, self-esteem, awareness and relationships to help girls overcome barriers that may prevent them from achieving greater success in these fields.
