Area Youth Benefit Concert for Hopewell Youth Association's Baseball Fields

July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Hopewell Youth Association (HYA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to operating a youth baseball program for boys ranging from 5 -15 years of age. We have had tremendous success for over 25 years, both with the sheer number of players as well as several advanced teams reaching the state championship level.

HYA has assumed all costs associated with managing the baseball park inside the ball fields. In 2011, we absorbed the cost of $70,000 on field maintenance alone. This is only possible since HYA  is operated by an all volunteer board and every dollar raised is invested in park improvements. As a comparison, most baseball programs operate with a 10 team per field average. HYA historically averages 20 teams per field. This high usage takes a major toll on field conditions and HYA is constantly looking for fundraising events to offset the expense.

In 2012, we embarked on an ambitious campaign to raise over $100,000 in a single event.
HYA is engaged with Verizon Amphitheater to host a major event to raise sufficient funds for much needed deferred park improvements. Plans are to secure high profile entertainment for a benefit performance. This will be an all day event featuring TBD headliner entertainment as well as 25 local high school bands performing throughout the day.

HYA is reaching out to potential sponsors to advance the $100,000 required to secure the headliner entertainment and confirm the date for the Verizon Amphitheater. We estimate ticket sales in the range of 10,000 tickets at $30 each for a gross of $300,000. The $100,000 advance will be fully refunded thru ticket sales. With the further reduction of lighting, sound equipment, etc, we estimate a net to HYA of $100,000 or more. All funds to HYA will be invested in park improvements.

With success, this can be an annual fundraising event for HYA.

In return for becoming a sponsor, mutually agreeable incentives will be offered. Company logos on scoreboards, recognition at the performance  are but two examples. There are thousands of parents involved for years at Hopewell and this represents a great opportunity to get involved.
