PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 23, 2012 - United Fibers Acquires AbiBow Recycling’s Arizona Paper Retriever Program

Expansion secures important paper source to support manufacturing needs

Chandler, AZ, July 19, 2012 – United Fibers announces its acquisition of AbiBow Recycling’s Paper Retriever Program in Arizona, a recycling program used by schools, non-profits and businesses. The program consists of a network of organizations that benefit the environment and themselves by recycling and receiving payment for it.
Paper and cardboard waste, in high demand in the recycling industry, will be used to create new paper and will also provide the materials needed for United Fiber’s cutting edge cellulose insulation product.

United Fibers will expand the Paper Retriever Program throughout Maricopa County, as part of its Green Depot Campaign, specifically targeting the municipalities of Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, and Casa Grande. There will now be a dedicated sales force providing recycling opportunities to nonprofits and businesses all over the East Valley.

Schools participating in the program have seen their solid waste reduced an average of one to two dumpsters per week, cutting their trash removal costs while earning funds for school projects. Churches and other nonprofit organizations also raise money for their causes while helping the environment by drastically reducing their solid waste.  Businesses participate as well, with some opting to donate proceeds to local charities.

“We welcome this outstanding program and staff to the United Fibers family,” says Mike Kean, General Manager. “This acquisition is part of our broader vision to promote recycling in support of our own green manufacturing initiatives. The addition of this business provides a consistent stream of recyclable materials and furthers our overall mission.”

For current customers, the transition to new ownership will be seamless, with all phone numbers, contact information, and account numbers staying the same.
