Laurence B. Turell & New England Wealth Strategies Serve As Key Sponsors At Charity Golf Event

July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- The full day charity golf event will take place on  July 30 and will gather together more than one hundred and fifty patrons at the Glen Head Country Club, located at 240 Glen Cove Road, to raise money for the organization, which is dedicated to placing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on youth sports fields to save lives.

The foundation was established in 2005 following the tragic death of 9 year-old Robbie Levine who died with his father by his side after collapsing during little league practice. Robbie’s parents, Jill and Dr. Craig Levine, believe that an AED defibrillator would have helped save their son’s life, and established the foundation in Robbie’s name to ensure that future incidents could be prevented.

“My son and Robbie were best friends,” says Turell, who has worked in the financial services industry since 1989 and has served as a Registered Representative at local financial services firm New England Wealth Strategies since 2006. “The Levine’s have turned their loss into strength, and I stand by them in their ongoing mission to prevent as many youth athlete deaths as possible. It’s really a noble cause.”

To provide as much support as possible Mr. Turell approached the Managing Partners at his firm, Louis M. Aidala and Mrs. Lorraine Padilla, and asked for a company contribution. Mr. Aidala responded immediately. “My team and I feel honored to support the Forever 9 foundation.” “It’s a privilege to be able to be able to make a difference in the communities we serve,” added Mrs. Padilla.

This is the Forever 9 foundation’s first Golf, Tennis and Mah Jong fundraiser.  Since 2005 the foundation has raised money to further the organization’s mission of placing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) on youth sports fields to save lives. Forever 9’s goals are to educate the public about defibrillators and to ensure that these life-saving devices are available and accessible at every youth sporting event. The organization holds two other fundraisers, the 5K Robbie’s Run race and walk in Merrick, NY, and the Dealing With Hearts Gala.
The golf day begins with Brunch at 10:30 am. Golf tee-off is at 12:30 pm. Tennis and Mah Jongg brunch starts at 12:30 pm with activities at 2:00 pm. Reception and the cocktail hour will begin at 5:30. Dinner follows at 6:30.
