Bailey Kennedy attorney Joins Non-Profit Board of Directors

PRLog (Press Release) - Jul. 23, 2012 - Paul Williams, an attorney at the law firm Bailey Kennedy, has been named vice president of the board of trustees for the Las Vegas chapter of Family Promise, a non-profit organization dedicated to address the growing needs of long-term homeless families in Southern Nevada.

“Family Promise has created a successful program that addresses the critical unmet needs of homeless families in this area,” said Williams. “I am honored to serve this organization by providing all that I can to help its talented staff succeed.”

Williams’ legal practice emphasizes the area of complex civil litigation including disputes involving commercial and corporate law, business torts, healthcare and legal ethics. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2011 and served as judicial extern under the Honorable Donald M. Mosley in the Eighth Judicial Court. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology and criminal justice from Weber State University in 2005.

Family Promise serves approximately 1,200 individuals annually who are recommended to the agency through referrals from local church groups, government service providers and other non-profit agencies.  Family Promise, through its Interfaith Hospitality Network, provides families with shelter services that allow families to stay intact—instead of being separated into different facilities.  Family Promise also provides homeless families with intensive case management services to help them work their way out of chronic homelessness. According to Williams, the non-profit looks at long-term solutions for families instead of quick fixes. In fact, it placed approximately 40 percent of those into permanent housing with another 27 percent finding their way to transitional housing. Of those served, just under 60 percent were children under the age of 18.
