El’s Kitchen, manufacturer of gluten free snacks, has recently signed a lease on 3,000 square feet of space in Stratford, Connecticut.
The company’s current production is mostly outsourced due to existing space limitations. Building a new kitchen will allow the company to bring all of its snack manufacturing, warehousing and office functions under one roof, streamlining production and cutting costs.
The space is undergoing extensive construction to cater to the requirements of El’s Kitchen, and new automated equipment is being delivered that will help the company meet increasing demand for its Medleys Gluten Free Snack Mix.
According to company President Eleanor “El” Smith, “Our primary objective in looking for space was to find a dedicated Gluten-Free kitchen for our manufacturing processes, but we soon realized that we would need to build our own facility to meet that requirement. This new location perfectly serves our current needs but it will also allow us to easily expand operations when the time comes.”
El’s Kitchen expects the new facility to be fully operational in September.
El’s Kitchen recently introduced two new flavors to its Medleys gluten free snack mix line. Cheddar and Sour Cream & Onion Medleys joined Orginal Zesty Medleys in El’s popular snack family.
