PRLog (Press Release) -
Jul. 23, 2012 - Foundation Consulting announced due diligence capabilities in the Union of Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. This announcement coincides with public reporting requirements for all US-related companies with investments over US $ 500,000 in Myanmar. According to Gregory M. Thomas, Managing Director of Foundation Consulting, ‘the reporting requirements mean that organizations looking at Myanmar need to proceed with caution; but we are confident that the opportunities outweigh the risks and that the increased oversight will benefit all stakeholders.’
On average, commercial investigations in Myanmar will take three to six weeks to complete and information availability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To enhance the quality of investigations, Foundation Consulting has developed an extensive network in commercial and government centers as well as many of the ethnic regions.
According to Mr. Thomas, ‘Myanmar marks the 110th country where we can support clients and to date the [risk management] team has conducted more than 1,000 investigations.’
