Promedia showcases state-of-the-art design solutions across Qatar’s vibrant construction segment

Company hosts ‘Autodesk Solutions Day’ for Qatar’s AEC professionals
 
July 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Promedia Qatar, a subsidiary company of Omnix International, the leading distributor of Autodesk products and digital software imaging solutions, is eyeing to become a major part of Qatar’s rapidly growing construction market. The company highlighted its new line of powerful design solutions at ‘Autodesk Solutions Day,’ an event aimed at helping Qatari users, particularly across the Architecture-Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry, in bringing their designs to reality faster. The event, which was held recently at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Doha, is part of the company’s efforts to address the various opportunities and challenges in the key sectors of Qatar's construction industry, like building construction, infrastructure, oil and gas, power and water desalination and other industrial sectors.

The event which was the seventh in the ‘Autodesk Solutions Day’ series was held to showcase the enhancements in the Autodesk 2013 portfolio, featuring in-depth creation suites and latest design innovations to an audience of 173 participants from both the private and public sectors. Participating companies included Parsons, Qatari Engineer and Associates Consulting, Larsen and Toubro, KEO, Ashghal and Punj Lloy to name a few. According to recent industry reports, the country has managed to distance itself from the adverse effects made by the global economic slowdown. In fact, the country is currently witnessing a large influx of projects as a result of its successful bid to host the prestigious FIFA World Cup in 2022. In addition to the ingress of new projects, Qatar is now undergoing massive upgrades for existing infrastructure like ports, railways and roads. In 2011 alone, a total of USD 16,138 million worth of contracts were awarded across construction sectors. For 2012, analysts are forecasting USD 19,200 million in contracts with an expected USD 21,928 million in 2013.

“These are exciting times for Qatar’s construction industry as the preparations for the FIFA World Cup in 2022 are expected to drive in large investments for the country,” said Nidhin Dev, Business Development Manager, Promedia Qatar. “Along with the increase in the number of projects comes the accompanied demand for highly effective and reliable design based software. This unique event was held to make the segment more aware of our wide range of powerful design solutions and the significant benefits to be gained from using them.”

'Autodesk Solutions Day' has been tailor-made especially for Qatari users, from the building, infrastructure, and manufacturing industries. The event was highlighted with AutoCAD presentations and key sessions that focus on the mechanical, architecture, and civil segments. Each session during the event offered attendees with key insight into new product features and how to best leverage these in unique work environments. Software showcased during the event included AutoCAD 2013- New, Revit Architecture 2013, Revit Structure 2013 - New, Revit MEP 2013 - New and Navisworks 2013 - Overview.
